It looks like the new Zelda title will be getting an overhaul according to the Official Nintendo Magazine. If you remember, when first announced that the new Wii Zelda would have Motion Plus control, I wasn’t very impressed and hoped for the series to change its now-becoming-stale format. In an interview conducted by Nintendo Magazine, when asked about how different the new Zelda would be, producer Eiji Aonuma responded:
“It is something we used to talk about with Mr Miyamoto, and he and I agree that if we are following the same structure again and again, we might not be able to give long time Zelda fans a fresh surprise.”
“So we have been trying something new in terms of the structure of the Wii version of the new Zelda game this time. I am really hopeful that people will be surprised with the changes we have implemented for this Wii version.”
Since this is everything I said I hoped for last time I mentioned the new Zelda title, I couldn’t be more excited. Leave it to Nintendo to grab my interest once again and get me all giddy for an old friend. Link, I hope your new coat of paint is radically different and this does not mean they will just put you on an airplane and call it ‘innovative’ (well they already did do horses, boats, and trains…..).

Meh. I’m afraid that this is a bad idea. Classics are classics because of what they are. Changing the form… is changing the game and making it not the classic anymore (like the new Jak and Daxter, that have them on the ship almost all the time). And I’m annoyed at the motion control stuff. That can’t end well.
