You heard right: The good Sonic The Hedgehog games are getting a release on the Nintendo DS system in one fine little cartridge! Finally, we will be able to play (legally) all the awesome original hedgehog inspired games that plagued our childhood. Or if you are not an old man like me, you will get to finally experience these masterpiece platformers of old in a new portable way, whenever you like. With the first four original Sonic games on this compilation(Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles ), as well as goodies like pictures and videos to unlock, this release will be the perfect thing to pick up once the holiday rush is over and your craving some old school action. That is, if you haven’t bought these same games already within the past couple years.

Is it just me, or is Sonic sneaking into everything these days? Whether it’s reiterations, or just popping up in other franchises, It’s like Sega can’t figure out how to make a new Sonic game that is actually good, so they just try to stick these old gems on us over and over again until we get enough Sonic lovin’ to forget about the fact there is nothing new. At least nothing new that isn’t vomit inducing. Granted, I am not complaining completely since these games are classics (though I’m sure nostalgia has a lot to do with that) but eventually this strategy won’t work anymore. We aren’t as dumb as you think we are Sega!
Sonic games have took a nosedive from the heaven of gaming awesomeness to the depths of bargain bin hell. Since pictures speak louder than words…

…….. *shivers*. Swords and sonics don’t mash. Lets keep It 2D Sonic Team, and leave the weapons out of it. At least we will be able to harken back when this blue guy was a symbol of speed and sass with this new installment. AND BE ABLE TO SAVE ANYWHERE! “Oh wait Dr. Robotnik, can you just hold on for a second? I need to run to the toilet quick. BRB.”
Keep an eye out for this when it drops March 2010.
