Has the Sony fanboy suffering finally ended? After spending the last few years nibbling at the heels of Xbox 360 exclusives the PS3 has at long last tripped up its rival with Metacritic hailing the black box as the system of the year?
Metacritic recently announced that the PS3 had the highest Power Ranking of the year. Power Rankings are based on the quality and quantity of games released during the year. Sales figures were excluded from this ranking due to Wii games turning the highest profit from games that are rated the lowest of all 6 consoles. In the end the Xbox 360 had the highest amount of games that received a Metascore greater than 75, but the PS3 had the most highest-scoring games in 2009. Sony’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves earned the highest Metascore of the year with a 96.
Let’s hear your reactions to the results, if you agree, disagree, or are crazy enough to think the Wii should have held more spots on the top 10 feel free to vent below.
