An unconfirmed source has leaked video of Half Life 2 on the Xbox 360’s Project Natal. The video shows a player navigating through a room, changing camera angles, and even interacting with the environment a bit. It seems as the footage is still in its early beta stage, but that doesn’t get us any less excited.

The game is controlled using both hands, much like playing a FPS on the iPhone: one hand controls movement and the other manipulates the camera. The motions seem simple enough and the player didn’t have any trouble accomplishing the objective, surprisingly the video showed only minimal lag between the players hand gestures and the action on screen. To great disappointment no weapon play is shown, so speculate away because its anyones guess how that will function.

The good news about this video is that, if hardcore games like Half Life are getting the Natal treatment the possibilities are seemingly endless. Natal is shaping up to be a legitimate gaming mechanism, rather than a magnet for casual games.

What games are you hoping will receive the Natal treatment? I’m looking at you Ninja Gaiden!

If Natal actually works like Wii was supposed to, I might be tempted into getting a 360 again.
