Dear Gamer’s Diary,

So it’s about my third day playing now, and I have reached level 12 with my friend, but there is something I have realized that is quite obvious about this game. Final Fantasy XI is EXTREMELY slow. The requirements to get any action(lol that sounds so funny alone) takes quite a while, and the majority of your time playing is spent grinding (for those of you who doesn’t know what that means, it is time spent solely fighting monsters to gain EXP the hard way) before anything exciting happens. And anything exciting hasn’t happened yet either. I’ve done a few quests and explored many regions, but traveling has proven to be a pain too. Quests required us to travel extremely far and only with walking speed. But guess what? We did this only to die and not accomplish anything. The “Check” system to determine if you should be able to defeat a mob is far from accurate. Saying something is a decent challenge in some cases is an easy KO, and others, asking to die. Why couldn’t Final Fantasy XI be like other MMOs and just give us a level for the monster? Oh well, gotta live with what we got right? I’ll keep you posted! But it’s back online for me!

Sincerely,
Beastius, Hume Monk, Seraph Server

Gotta love being able to airships landing next to save points in regular Final Fantasy games ;) for leveling up!

I hate grinding. Its the epitomy of fail for RPG.
Random battles work for me a little better.

You haven’t convinced me on this title, I think even with the name Final Fantasy, this won’t make my shelf. Thanks for the reviews!

Maybe FFXIV will be better?
