MLG Tournament - Behind the Scenes

The Mixr Gaming League Tournament between Wirebot and Ningin might seem like a friendly competition. But get behind the scenes and you see what it really is - an all out war! Over on Google Wave the bloggers show their true colors. Snarky remarks and insults are being thrown around like tomatoes in a food fight.




It began even before the contest officially started. Right off the bat, Ningin and Wirebot started a tug of war with a not-so-innocent bystander… Alexa. Originally, she was slotted to be on the Ningin team. Naturally, Wirebotters were not happy with that.

William: I’m so sorry Alexa that they forced you to be on the losing team, that must be a bummer : (
Jinra: Wow Bill. This is how you feel about us. Alexa, I’m sure doesn’t feel forced. She loves me.

Of course, Alexa never wanted to be on their team anyway.

Jinra: DO YOU READ THAT WB? I HAVE ACTUAL GAMERS ON MY TEAM.
Alexa: Jinra, Wirebot’s ENTIRE team is made up of gamers. Good luck Team Ningin; you’re going to need it.

When the two teams weren’t fighting over Alexa, they were sharing supportive remarks and wishing each other luck in the tourney (not).

William: Check your mailboxes Ningin’s I’ve sent a box of tissues to all of your homes, you’ll be needing them shortly!
Jinra: Keep talking Bill, keep talking.
Patrick: I - uh, you - uh, obviously your flash game skills aren’t up to - ah, screw it. YOUR MOTHER’S A [transmission terminated]
Jinra: [It's a] good idea to have subs, you never know what happens. Or if your team mates feel a little intimidated.
Yuliya: Intimidated? By you guys? Ha!

Once the tournament actually started, things heated up even more with Alexa and Spencer egging everyone on.

Alexa: It’s already started guys. : D Let’s goooo
Spencer: I don’t think they’re topping my score on Escape the Red Giant. Over 100,000 higher than our competitions score. I’ve got high scores on both my games. Let’s do this people!

Ningin tried to fight dirty by making one of Wirebot’s players look bad. And sure the transcript of Jeffery’s raging might look a bit incriminating, but it doesn’t show the aftermath. Get behind the scenes and you see the truth…

So there you have it. Are we taking this thing a little too seriously? … Naaaw. After all, this is just a little gaming competition, right?
