As an active Playstation gamer my whole life I’ve ignored just about every highly anticipated Xbox release, ever. It wasn’t because I thought they were going to be horrible games, it was that I never owned a Microsoft system, so why get excited for something I’ll never have a chance to play. But all that has changed this year when I finally figured that it would be a good time to grab an Elite and plow through the long list of Xbox 360 exclusives. Although the feat is daunting, I am making it my New Year’s resolution to complete every exclusive title by 2011.

I’ve picked such a formidable challenge as a sort of punishment for waiting so long to dig into titles like Left 4 Dead, Halo, and Mass Effect. Would you have believed that there was a gamer out there that has never even seen Halo gameplay until just a month ago? I didn’t think so! Alas, if I am able to conquer such an admirable undertaking, I feel as though I will have reached the zenith of my gaming experiences, and have the achievements to prove it.

Not only does the system have over 60 exclusive titles, I will be keeping on top of all current exclusives being released on my beloved Playstation 3. If you haven’t felt my pain yet, surely you do now. There is one shining sliver of positivity in waiting this long to finally experience Xbox exclusives though, cheap games. I recently scoured GameStop shelves during their post holiday Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale and grabbed about a dozen or so titles for a more than fair price. So, if you don’t mind being oblivious to half of the gaming world for a few years, waiting may not be that bad of an idea.

Now I know I most likely will not be able to finish every exclusive title, but New Year’s resolutions are for dreamers and I can dream can’t I? So heres to a new year and new games!
