Capcom, where did your balls go? Yeah I just said it. Your games are good, but why are you so cautious?

Capcom has recently delayed three anticipated games planned to be released earlier this year all the way into past March. These three games include Lost Planet 2 (now set for May 4, 2010), Super Street Fighter IV (set for April 6, 2010), and Monster Hunter Tri (also set for April 6, 2010). But the thing is, this is especially awkward for Capcom, because by “tradition” they are normally reputed to release some awesome games in the first three months and always obtain great sales.

Why? Capcom did this hoping to avoid competition with other publisher’s major games that were also set for this first quarter of 2010. I honestly think they are scared mostly of games like Final Fantasy XIII, God of War III, Mass Effect 2, Army of Two: The 4th Day, and Bioshock 2. Will this be a good and beneficial move on Capcom’s part? Only time will tell. You know, now that I think about it, this kind of goes back to Bill’s (William Leary) post on the market being oversaturated with A+ titles. Maybe Capcom read his post.
