Why is it that just about every Xbox 360 3rd party exclusive eventually makes it way to the PS3 and the other way around? I’m not talking about “timed” exclusives either, I mean games like Lost Planet, Ninja Gaiden, and Tales of Vesperia that were deemed exclusives from day one, leaving everyone to think one system owners will be left out of the fun. Is it fair for consumers to base their purchases off of “exclusives” that were never intended to be exclusive from the start?
I’m just a little sick and tired of developers announcing titles as exclusive to one console and then turning around and publishing it on another platform. Isn’t that unfair? Not only does it spur sales on one console over another, but it denies multi-system owners the right to choose which system they want to purchase a particular game for.
For instance, say I prefer to play FPS games on the Xbox 360 due my fondness towards the trigger buttons or that I would rather play fighting games on my PS3 because the Dual Shock’s D-pad functions better. If a title is announced as exclusive and then later released for another system I was forced to make an unfair decision.
If a game is going to release multi-platform eventually, do not announce it as exclusive, at least throw us a bone and stamp it as timed.

Haha I love the picture. I don’t buy a lot of video games, especially not close to the release date, so this never really happened to me. But I can definitely understand how you feel.
