I cannot remember being this excited for a game to come out since Chrono Cross. Mass Effect was everything I love about sci-fi and RPG’s rolled into one glorious disc of pure greatness. The lore, the combat, the exploration…..the geth that reminded me of cylons… everything was just fracking awesome.

With the sequel only days away, I have completely cleared my schedule in order devote nonstop attention to my favorite commander (well, second favorite, Adama takes the cake. Sorry Shepard.) The best part? I am sure the rest of the internet is right there with me!

Anyway, to get to the point, this past week I myself have done nothing but prepare for the blowing of my mind that will happen once I jump aboard the Normandy and start exploring the universe with Shepard and crew. Bioware is the new Squaresoft; everything they touch is bound to be amazing. Lets just hope Microsoft doesn’t let me down.

So what about everyone else? Whatcha Playin!?

William: I’m still barreling through Mass Effect, but I picked up Bayonetta this weekend so I’ll definitely be loading that up too! I grabbed Family Game Night off of PSN after Christmas and really want to try it out. Anyone up for a little Scrabble?

Patrick: The traditional kickbacks of the occasional TF2 and L4D2 session with my friends keep me satiated as I wait for Mass Effect 2 to drop next week. Also been poking around with the games I picked up in the Steam Sale; Chronicles of Riddick is a prison and a half…

Yuliya: Borderlands!!! Non stop, with my husband. No midget is safe, no Claptrap left to suffer the terrible fate of “Leaking! I think I’m leakiiiing!” We’ve both been having Borderland dreams. (Hey, gotto make the best of the last week before school..).

Russ: I have been playing Borderlands, Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2, WoW, and Little Big Planet, and will be playing Assassin’s Creed 2, soon. I am dreading leveling up on Borderlands because it is so awful in the later levels and same with Modern Warfare 2. Little Big Planet is addicting as heck but can be pretty difficult in the later levels. And I am thinking about ditching World of Warcraft because it is just so horribly difficult to level up, it has a really hard grind to it and I am only level 19.

Alexa: I’m trying to spend the last week of my holidays before school starts again, productively game-wise. I got bored of playing PS3 and started playing old PS1 games (12 hours of Tomba 2 in a few days—woo). Can’t believe I never finished any of the games (all save files intact). But then again, I think I was too stupid to, at the age of 5.

Dave: Spent alot of time on ODST last night, and finished off with some Halo 3 multiplayer mania.
Got Mass Effect 2 CE Pre-ordered; I’m biting my freakin nails here!

Christopher: Since I simply refuse to let GameFly continue to ruin my gaming pipeline, I went out and bought Army of Two: The 40th Day and have been faking surrenders ever since. Borderlands is still the king of my co-op world, but I can’t find anyone to play through the Island of Dr. Ned DLC with me. And trying to compete with white nerds in Modern Warfare 2 is like trying to win a Street Fighter 2 match against a Korean that uses Balrog.
