If you’ve stuffed your anxiousness away in Pandora’s box in order to patiently await the God of War III March 16th release date you can shove that chest right off the back of a Titan! The problem is you’re going to have to wait a bit longer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, but after you watch the trailer below I guarantee you won’t mind the wait!

Lords of Shadow is a complete reboot of the beloved Castlevania saga. So if you’re feeling left out of the Vampire slaying loop, they’ve got you covered. The project is brought to us through the joint efforts of MercurySteam and Konami. Even Hideo Kojima of Metal Gear Solid fame is getting his hands in on the production, and if that doesn’t get your aching to button mash, I don’t know what will!

The extended trailer is mostly CGI with a few seconds of gameplay sprinkled in to let us know that the game is well on its way for a 2010 release. From the clip we can gather that Castleania: Lords of Shadow will be somewhat of a marriage of God of War’s gameplay and Assassin’s Creed’s platforming. The trailer also lets us know that Konami is taking this reboot seriously with their choice to hire quality actors, Patrick Stewart and Jason Isaacs, to voice their characters.

Look to whisk across the Gothic European landscape sometime in 2010.
