I think it is safe to say that Bioware hit the big one with Mass Effect 2. They definitely outdid themselves with this A+ title, and even though I had some things to say about the game mechanics, the story and characters are spot on. So much that it has taken some of our writers out of commission! Mass Effect induced coma if you will. I myself just recovered from mine, but heres to hoping Patrick and William will make it through before Bioshock 2 hits our homes on February 9th.

So, for the ones who are alive and well, Whatcha been Playin!?

Jordan: Do I even really need to say it? Last week I had not touched my controller in a month, and now I can’t seem to put it down. Yes, I am talking about the title that everyone can’t stop talking about: Mass Effect 2. My struggle goes a lot like this: Homework…Mass Effect 2…Poetry…. pursuing my love interest with Miranda…eating…. scanning planets…AH! It is so hard to not resist the temptation the xbox keeps placing on me. I hope everyone else punched the crap out of that reporter in the Citadel! A Renegade character is the most fun. After I survive the suicide mission I want to go back to Dragon Age: Origins since I barely scratched the surface of that one. Have I sold my life to Bioware? Nah, more like bought in.

Matt: How could I not include Mass Effect 2 on here? It seems almost like a given from this past week. So maybe I should be more specific; my character, Stefan Shepard, is a war hero who let Ashley die in the first game. I also messed up on the face design and it looks like he has a beak. Outside of that, I’m also goofing around on LittleBigPlanet (SN mrchiefie) and checking out some more of the user-created levels—the Lego-themed ones are amazing

Yuliya: My husband FINALLY got his PSP fixed!!! Which means I’ve been steadily and way too quickly going through my 1000 Prinny lives. Can I really be the hero (dood)!?

What have you guys been playin? Keep an eye out for gamer nights and giveaways coming soon for the month of February!

No Mass Effect 2 love because I’m still only half way through the first one, I know I’m pathetic. And the only thing I see in common with all of those traditional RPGs are that they were developed exclusively for the Xbox 360. I believe this is the first traditional RPG to hit the PS3 exclusively, so we’ll see how it goes.

I sent an e-mail earlier, but I guess you didn’t get it in time.

Here’s what I’ll be playing this week!

Bill: Well my plates kind of full this week. I’m going to be killing off the last few angels in Bayonetta, knifing my way through the battlefield in MAG, and summoning up giant mechs in White Knight Chronicles on Tuesday! But who am I kidding I’ll probably just end up playing MW2 all week! Let’s hope not though.
