It’s been just about 5 months since we’ve been graced with the holy grail of all first person shooters, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. By now gamers have clocked weeks online with MW2 and are soon going to be looking for DLC to keep their addictions going. For the first round of DLC I am hoping for a map pack containing some of our favorite locations from the original Modern Warfare. Below you’ll find maps that will give die-hard fans heart attacks if included as new DLC.

Backlot
This medium-sized map has tons of interiors that can be used as cover. Snipers love the rooftops, trap setters enjoy deploying Claymores in doorways, and run and gunners have fun jumping from one building to another snatching kills as fast as they can.

Vacant
Arguably the best map in any FPS ever. The majority of this map is interior, deeming airstrikes and helicopters useless. It would be great to get away from the crowded skies that often dominate the playing field in MW2 and get back to the basics of just you and your automatic.

Shipment
If you don’t know what grenade spam is you surely will after playing a match in this classic COD 4 map. It would be neat to see how shipment would play with the retooled grenades in MW2. Maybe we would actually get to have a serious match, ah that wouldn’t be any fun, now would it?

District
This map would be great because no matter which style of gameplay you subscribe to you’ll be able to use the environment to your advantage. There is tons of leverage, choke points, and camping shelters. This the best balanced map in the original Modern Warfare.

Crossfire
Honestly this pick was a toss-up between Crash, but in the end I picked Crossfire because of it’s clear cut path down the middle of the map and the strategy it imposes. Snipers can use the vacant street to pick off anybody stupid enough to casually stroll down it, which leaves the rest of the players to duke it out in the shops along its sides. Crash has too much of a central focus and often leads to chaos in the vicinity of the plane crash.

Did your favorite Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare map not make the list? Let us know which you’d choose below.

I miss playing these maps, I would love to see them added to MW2!
