Best buy of the week: Heavy Rain

Why: Sony took a risk with this one and it looks like it’s going to pay off in dividends. Not only does it sport some of most realistic graphics on any system to date, but it has gameplay that focuses more on atmosphere and emotion than straight forward action. If you are a PS3 owner Heavy Rain should be a day one purchase.

Destined for the bargain bin: Deadly Premonitions

Why: When the debut trailer of a game puts you to sleep that’s not a good sign. Don’t believe me, I’ve embedded it below. I lasted 30 seconds before dozing off, see if you can beat my record.

Honorable mentions: If you enjoyed Borderlands and have yet to pick up the DLC than the Borderlands: Add-on pack is a good buy, that’s if you’re playing on the PC. Xbox 360 fans will have to wait a bit longer for the pack to hit store shelves, but do your self a favor and just grab it off XBL.

I think I’m going to use the 50% bonus credit (60% if you have an edge card) GameStop is offering for trade-ins this week and trade in MAG so I can pick up Heavy Rain. I have too many online FPS I’m playing between MW2 and Bioshock 2 that I never get to play MAG :(

Fitting ironic fact of the week: Heavy Rain came out today and it’s raining hard. (I braved the rain for it - I wanted it THAT badly)
