Final Fantasy XIII is not looking good for Xbox 360 owners, but will you abandon ship?

In addition to the graphical differences that were mentioned on Ningin, Vetro reports that because the game is shipping on three discs, if you want to install the game onto your hard drive you will have to own either an upgraded hard drive or an elite Xbox360 system. The whopping 18gb install size cannot fit onto the traditional Xbox Arcade units that many casual gamers still own. Though installation is completely optional, many people claim that it helps the game run much more smooth and loading times show significant decrease. My question is, will these problems affect the sales of Final Fantasy XIII on the 360?

If you have both the PS3 and the 360, the choice is pretty obvious on which system you would buy for. That would be like buying a regular DVD when you could buy Blueray instead. That is not my question. I am wondering if these problems will actually turn off people from purchasing Final Fantasy XIII all together if their only option is an Xbox 360 version.

I know that I could not care in any way shape or form that the textures are slighty different on the 360, or that the install size is too big for me to muster. I want some Final Fantasy, some traditional jap RPG gameplay, and these little problems that the internet is freaking out about don’t mater to me in the least. Sure, if I had a PS3 I would probably pick it up on Sony’s system, but because I don’t doesn’t mean I am just going to pass it by altogether!

It is good to compare system to system traits for those on the fence, but to get up in arms over the difference to the point of no longer purchasing is absolutely ridiculous. Get over yourself, internet.

That’s kinda retarded for those not considering buying FFXIII at all because of the Xbox problems. I mean, there’s always the PS3 version. They probably also took into consideration the negative reviews.

I love my Xbox, but you can’t deny the power of a Blu-ray disc.

Let’s just wait for statistics, bro. You may not be turned off, but going around many forums enough people are already dissuaded to make this first Xbox release a last for Square.

18 vs 38GB is absolutely ridiculous of a difference.
I guess they didn’t want to make it 5 discs, lol?

Anyways, I’m glad you can see it on both sides of the fence. Hopefully not everyone will care about the difference, but looking at it realistically, I won’t be surprised if the sales for Xbox will be truly dismal.
