So apparently Big Daddies are not only good at protecting little sisters and drilling your face off, they also have the time to compete in the Daytona 500. If you look closely at all the cars driving around in a circle this Sunday (because it is obvious every videogame player is also a huge NASCAR fanatic) you will be able to spot the Gamestop sponsered number 20 car. Though the art will change every race this season, today we get a big slice of daddy straight from the depths of Rapture to rock around that circle. More »

I’ve been playing a lot of White Knight Chronicles lately and I noticed that Yulie, the only female member of my party, had become my teams healer. I maxed out all her Skill Points in the area of Divine Magic which allows her to cure everything from HP to paralysis. This isn’t an original battle tactic, nope, just a newly noticed habit of mine. In every RPG I have ever played I have always assigned the naive girly girl as my party’s healer. Am I being unconsciously sexist? More »

From Ningin: Some people may say it doesn’t matter but I consider the question of East Coast vs West Coast to be one of the most - if not the most - important debate of the century. I’m really glad this conflict was settled once and for all yesterday on the Mixr League Gaming battlefield so that we can put an end to this violence. Hear that folks? The war is over. Like, it doesn’t matter that East Coast won in a dominating 7-2 fashion. Let’s all write peaceful blog posts… More »

In a recent interview with Sci-Fi Wire, Vin Diesel spilled the beans on his next big project, Riddick 3. With each past installment we’ve seen a video game release some time after, in 2004 we got The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay and in 2009 we were treated with The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault of Dark Athena. Both titles were developed by Starbreeze Studios in conjunction with Diesel owned developer Tigon Studios. Could we have another Riddick game hitting consoles in the near future? More »

With Bioshock 2, developers at Irrational Games wanted to step up their combat formula by allowing users to wield dual weapons. Players no longer have to swap between plasmids and firearms because Big Daddies can multitask allowing them to deploy both simultaneously. There are over 80 different combinations possible through mixing the 10 plasmids with the 8 firearms. Which marriage of plasmid and gun is your favorite? More »

Popcorn and the movies. Television without commercials. Yoo-Hoo and a glazed donut. Some things in life are just perfect for each other. Video games and music are one of those things. While gamers are unable to control the requirement to earn that last gold trophy/achievement, they are able to control what pumps through their speakers while doing so with custom in-game soundtracks. To help change up that stale rotation of old-time favorites, the Wirebot bloggers will be providing a suggested playlist every Friday. Our recommendations this week include songs from: Queen, Faye Wong, The Flatliners and a few others. More »

Hacking was one of the most addictive mechanics from Bioshock. Making those pipe pieces fit together perfectly so the corrosive hacking goo could safely make its way through the machine was about as satisfying as it gets. It’s like they say though, “Nothing gold can stay.” Bioshock 2 trades in Pipe Dream for a timed color matching game. When you initiate a hack a colored slider appears, you must land the swaying arrow on either green on blue to progress, red and white will leave you in bad shape. This system of hacking is vastly different from its forefather, some may love it and others will want to harvest 2K employees over the decision. Which are you? More »

And you thought we were just nerds behind computer screens, talking about video games. I mean, that is half right, but we also have alter egos not known to anyone but ourselves. These personalities haunt us daily, and sometimes release from the depths of our very soul, usually when fighting off splicers or bonkin goombas, and sometimes when the line at the grocery store is just a little bit too long. I am letting you into a world, reader, that is not too pleasant. A world where reality takes a backseat to gameality (just roll with it). This, Is, WIREBOT! More »

Lace_thongs35 has just sold a used Nintendo Entertainment System with 5 games for $13,105! You’re probably asking yourself, what was so special about that NES that it could spark a 16 person bidding war? Well, it wasn’t the NES itself everyone was after, it’s the game with the horrible box art, Stadium Events. More »

In the most recent issue of The Official Playstation Magazine, Sony confirms that Resistance 3, inFamous 2, and Killzone 3 will make an appearance during this year’s E3. We’ve already heard tidbits about Resistance 3 and Killzone 3, but until now we haven’t heard any official news about inFamous 2. It’s not the most shocking news but it’s nice to get confirmation that Cole McGrath’s struggle between heroism and villainy isn’t over yet! More »

From Ningin: If someone were to ask me about the one thing in life I’m most bitter about as a So. Cal native, it’s the fact that Tupac would still be here if it weren’t for the East Coast vs. West Coast feud. This weekend is our ultimate chance to settle this battle on the MLG playing field! Rumours and confirmation hit the net yesterday, saying that a bunch of Activision-Blizzard studios including Radical, Luxoflux and Neversoft have been hit by massive job cuts. At least 90 members of Radical, the developer behind Prototype and The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction have been let go, according to sources near the Vancouver-based studio. Neversoft is also suffering an unspecified number of job cuts, as is Luxoflux and Underground Development. Why? More »

With the release of Bioshock 2 we not only got a new section of Rapture to stomp our Big Daddy around in but we got new gadgets too! One new gizmo is the research video camera. The research camera in the original Bioshock attributed a level score based on action shots. Capture a Splicer lunging towards you for an A+ or play it safe and capture one inspecting a dead carcass for a D. More »

You might be able to get away with making morally reprehensible decisions without drawing much attention in games like Mass Effect and inFamous, but not in Bioshock. If you’re one of those types that sacrifices defenseless Little Sisters just for an added ADAM boost I have little hope for your soul in the afterlife. More »

Sometimes after playing a game I sit and wonder to myself, how did they come up with that? For once I think I know how. They took a couple of their favorite games, Chess and Lemmings, along with their favorite films, The Matrix and WarGames, poured them into a blender with a fifth of Sangria which they then drank while consuming fistfuls of magic mushrooms. Yeah, that’s what Darwinia+ is like. More »
