While U.S. gamers are just about ready to get their hands on Yakuza 3, Japanese gamers already have their hands on the franchises 4th outing. Yakuza 4 ships to Japanese retailers on March 18th, leaving U.S. gamers over a year behind.

Do you remember in the 90’s when the U.S. would get games a year after their Japanese release? Due to the popularity of western shooters over recent years we haven’t seen these delays as much, but I fear its beginning again. I can understand releasing big named titles a few weeks earlier, but months, and even years is too unreasonable in today’s world.

With the internet making international communication so easy, gamers in other parts of the world are being spoiled with the games details even before a release date is given. Of course, we could always just not read about it, but seriously who does that!
