Remember Eric Ruth? Probably not, but you should because he is the guy behind the amazing 8-bit Left 4 Dead downloadable game released last year. It appears he’s up to his old tricks again. This time around he has recreated Mega Man 9 in glorious HD. The end result is simply beautiful.

There’s some good and bad news attached to this charming story. I’ll give you the good news first: Mega Man 9 HD exists! Bad news, you won’t ever have the chance to play it. Ruth has decided not to share his creation with the rest of the world out of fear from getting a call from Capcom’s lawyers. Perhaps Capcom will hear about the excitement his little project has stirred up and decided to put out a release of their own. There is still hope!
