In an interview with Siliconera Final Fantasy XIII director, Motomu Toriyama showed interest in remaking the cult favorite Final Fantasy VII for next generation consoles.
When Toriyama was asked which Final Fantasy game would he like to see get remade his response was, “That would be Final Fantasy VII!” ”If we had the manpower and the time to work on a project, if we were to remake Final Fantasy VII with the quality of Final Fantasy XIII it would become a tremendous project,” Toriyama continued. “If we can get the number of people we need by all means that would be the one I would really want to remake.”
Alright, so it’s not a confirmation by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s still nice to hear that it’s a topic on the minds of Final Fantasy hot shots and not just an entry on fanboy wish lists.
