So after a little more than two weeks of having Pokemon Heart Gold, I have finally beaten the Elite Four of Johto. I must say, that this part of the game never gets old. There’s no better feeling than putting your carefully trained Pokemon to the test and coming out victorious.

The Elite Four themselves haven’t physically changed a whole lot, save for a couple of graphic updates. One thing I will say, however, is that they are certainly harder than in the previous games. The Pokemon they use haven’t changed, but the moves that those Pokemon use certainly have changed to match the plethora of techniques that four generations of Pokemon opens up. And, of course, Lances three Dragonites are still as tough as ever. I found it relatively easy to beat down Will, Koga, Bruno and Karen, but Lance took a whole lot of effort, as he reduced me down to just Ho Oh fighting for its life. With a lot of potions and a lot of luck, however, I came out on top, and my Pokemon have been immortalized in the Hall of Fame.

This, of course, isn’t the end. I’ve still got a whole new region, Kanto, to explore, as well as a ton of things still to accomplish in Johto. Pokemon is indeed a never-ending story.
