Valve is bringing Steam to Mac OS X, that is a fact, but when exactly is anybody’s guess. Don’t get too excited though because chances are your machine won’t be able to run it. Below we have a complete breakdown of the system requirements needed to run Steam and its games.
Steam system requirements:
+ Intel processor (sorry PPC owners)
+ Mac OS X 10.5 or higher
+ Source games require Mac OS X 10.5.8 or 10.6.3 or higher (X3100 or 900-series Intel chipsets not supported - sorry older MacBook owners).
+ Steam and Source will run natively on OS X - no emulation
+ Source will run OpenGL
+ Mac and Windows users will play on the same servers and join the same lobbies
+ Release expected some time in May

And Windows users make sure to update your Steam client if you haven’t done so already, there is a pretty sheik new UI available.
