With the Halo beta rolling out on Monday, one of the most anticipated titles comes home for a few weeks while Bungie gets the community to jump in and test there latest super-powered baby. If you’re a die-hard Halo fan, then you already have your preorders in and you’ll be reporting in to Noble Team sometime in September, but if you’re still trying to figure out which edition of the game is worth your money, I believe I can nudge you in the right direction.

Halo Reach ($59.99)
This edition of the game is your baseline product, comes with no extras; just the meat and potatoes. If you’re a fan of first person shooters and you casually play Halo and enjoy the franchise, this is for you. No extras here, if you’re still pinching pennies this is the copy you’ll want to stick with.

Halo Reach Limited Edition ($79.99)
This edition of the game is for the fan of the franchise, if you enjoy extras lots of quirky extras like Dr. Halsey’s notes on the Spartan Project, Dr. Halsey’s I.D., a Spartan-II patch, an amazing Elite armor permutation, and comes packaged in a extremely cool case based off of a recovered ONI hardbox.

Halo Reach Legendary Edition ($149.99)
This edition is for the fan who lives for Halo and the universe, all of the extras that were included in the Limited Edition are included here, on top of a flaming Armor Effect, and a statue of Noble Team. Yes; a statue, not to mention it comes packaged in a crate which looks absolutely amazing. The price isn’t supposed to justify your purchase, but I know the statue that was lovingly handcrafted by the fellows at McFarlane Toys and is individually serialized. Microsoft learned from the Legendary Edition fiasco that followed Halo 3, and says that “once they are gone, they are gone”, that in and of it self is enough of a reason to splurge!

Whichever edition you choose to pick up on release day, or pre-order right now, you’ll be purchasing what is promising to be one of the most amazing games to ever hit home. Pre-orders for the game have already begun, truck on over to Gamestop and pick your poison if you’ve got the cash! For all the details on the game visit Bungie.net.

ugh. $150 for the legendary edition! I think ill make my own statue of noble team. I think I’ll just pay the $60.

I was a little bummed about that too, but the extras make up for the lack of one; I guess all the stuff from the universe appeal to the die-hard fans.

Awww. Expensive as they are, none of them are steelbooks. :( I think I’d stick with the regular edition.
