The iPad excels in many areas as it is. It is a great media consuming device; it has a large enough screen to watch movies, an incredibly user-friendly web browser, and is considered the best eReader on the market. But, its role as a portable gaming device is still in its infancy. Here are 3 iPhone/ iPod Touch games that would cement the iPad as a legitimate companion for all gamers.
3. The Sims
Whether you like The Sims or not, its popularity across a wide range of platforms speaks for itself. If the iPad version of The Sims is released and revamped in more ways than just upping the resolution, simulation games may have a new favorite hangout. The pairing of the iPad’s larger display with its ability to integrate and talk with other programs including social networking sites like Facebook could elevate the title to a new level. Many App Store games already take advantage of Facebook connectivity, but imagine that ability coming to a game that is fueled by social interaction like The Sims. Imagine within your simulated world that your neighbors are your other Facebook friends playing The Sims as well. It would add a completely new dimension to the game.
2. Street Fighter IV
With the popularity of Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior HD it is clear that iPad gamers want fighting games. What better fighting game is there than Street Fighter IV? It has already proven incredibly successful in the iPhone/iPod Touch App Store and utilizes a much more in-depth and advanced control scheme than Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior HD, which only consists of a four-way direction pad and a punch and kick button. Up the graphics, throw in some bonus material/ modes so we don’t feel ripped off for buying it a second time, and get this game on the iPad App Store!
1. CHAOS RINGS
If a game can look as nice as CHAOS RINGS does on the iPhone, imagine what it could look like on the iPad. CHAOS RINGS could do to iPad gaming what Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core did for the PSP. I believe that a game like this could be the factor that pushes an on-the-fence iPad purchaser towards a sale. Square-Enix has already announced that CHAOS RINGS will indeed see the light of day on the iPad, all we can do now is patiently wait and then watch as it soars to the #1 sales spot where it will undoubtedly sit for quite some time.
What games do you hope make the iPad jump?

Not to be entirely rude, but I have never liked games on my phone. I love capitalism, but I think they should leave gaming to the consoles. If I felt it absolutely neccesary, I’d buy a PSP. At least then the games would be worth the while.
