With E3 right around the corner Sony’s Playstation Move will undoubtedly get a much firmer release date than Fall 2010. In anticipation for what Sony will show off during its Move-centric presentation here is our Top 5 Playstation Move Game Wish list!

5. Cuboid

Why: Playing Cuboid with the Move controller wouldn’t be revolutionary, but it would be a cool way to rejuvenate this forgotten classic. Players would manipulate the motion remote vertically and horizontally in order to flip the block down the desired path. Like I said, no big deal but it would be a neat concept and if it’s successful it would encourage other developers to add Move support to some of their previous releases.

Possibility: Not so likely

4. Lara Croft

Why: I got three words for you: dual wielding weapons! Lara is famous for her double fisted pistols and what could be better than drawing two motion controllers to blast your way through the bowels of cavern? We’ve seen dual motion sticks being used with Street Fighters so we know it can be done, they would just have to execute it perfectly to pull it off. For instance, I want to be able to point each remote at a different target and blast them away, each remote would have to control each arm independently and accurately for this experience to be worthwhile. Seeing as how the last Lara outing was ported over to the Wii I see Playstation Move support in the next installment almost a guarantee.

Possibility: Highly Likely

3. ModNation Racers

Why: I’m not a big fan of motion controls in my racing games, not on my iPad or Wii, so that’s not what I’m interested in using the Move remote for in ModNation Racers. I was thinking more along the lines of using the motion controls in the level editor. Imagine selecting the elevation tool and raising or lowering the motion controller to gain or lose depth. It would come in handy when laying down your track as well, simply trace the path you want your blacktop to go and you are all done. Placing power ups and jumps would be as easy as selecting them and pointing and clicking where you want them to stay. ModNation Racers piggybacks on a lot of what Little Big Planet does and with their support already announced I expect we’ll hear something from United Games about this at E3.

Possibility: Highly likely

2. inFamous

Why: inFamous is game that absolutely needs an analogue stick, there’s just no getting around that, the motion and navigation controllers would both have to be used in this setup. How inFamous would play out in my head is like this: the navigation controller in your left hand would control Cole’s movement while the motion controller in your right would execute all his electrical attacks. Different combinations of hand gestures and button pressing would perform all of his attacks: a lob motion would hurl his electrical grenades, a quick jab would perform his basic shock attack, and draining/ arresting moves would utilize a trigger pull and flick motion. Since there is a ton of climbing involved in the game an upward flick of the motion controller could substitute as the jump button as well. I don’t see the original inFamous getting the Move treatment, but I do believe Sony will push their exclusive franchises to incorporate Move support.

Possibility: Likely

1. Portal

Why: Portal is one of my all time favorite video games, but that is not why it makes the #1 spot on our list. It is #1 because of its simplistic, yet insanely complex, puzzles. Motion controls would only make the title more simplistic. Need to place a portal? No problem, just point and click. There are no gun fights in Portal, even though there are killer robots, because there are no weapons per se. Everything is handled in a very passive aggressive way. What is a better way to get the hang of motion controls than by playing through a game that lets you play at your own pace. There are no timers, thugs, or campers to get you frustrated with the controls, just simple, elegant point and click fun. Now I don’t see this happening whatsoever with the current way Portal lives on the PS3 (through The Orange Box), but if Portal: Still Alive were to make its way to PSN and if Gabe Newell is having a particularly good day, then maybe, just maybe, we’ll get to play Portal with Playstation Move.

Possibility: Who knows
