Did you start playing shooters after the popularity of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare took off? Well then chances are you haven’t gotten around to playing any of the previous Call of Duty installments. Fear not, late bloomer, Activison has got you covered with Call of Duty: The War Collection.
The War Collection consists of Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, and Call of Duty: World at War. The collection is going to set you back $60, so you are probably looking for a reason why you should pick it up.
Here it is, Call of Duty 2 was a critical darling when it was originally released in 2005 and was developed by Infinity Ward (the guys who brought you Modern Warfare 1 + 2), Call of Duty 3 faired well with reviewers as well, it currently holds an 82 on Metacritic and is developed by Treyarch, who also developed the third title in the collection, Call of Duty: World at War. World at War rode the coat tails of popularity that Modern Warfare spurred and was praised for its Nazi zombie mode in its online multiplayer. Treyarch is also developing the newest installment in the franchise with Call of Duty: Black Ops, due out in November 11, 2010.
Call of Duty: The War Collection releases in June for the Xbox 360.
