The next installment in Sonic’s adventures (and follow up to SEGA’s last game, Sonic and the Dark Knight) has been confirmed to hit both the Wii and the DS later this year!

The game takes place in an intergalactic amusement park, where Sonic has to help alien creatures called Wisps escape from the captivity of his arch-rival, Dr. Eggman. Sonic will then be able to use the freed Wisps to help him navigate the levels.

The DS gets the additional treat of featuring the use of both of the handheld’s screens, which will open up “exclusive gameplay features.”

I admit I’ve never played a Sonic game before, but this does look and sound pretty interesting. (Is it just me or do the Wisps look like Pokemon?) Look out for more information regarding Sonic Colors at the E3 Expo, the video game conference to be held in June!
