Today, Nintendo revealed the chosen cover Pokemon for the two new installments in the Gotta Catch ‘Em All franchise, White and Black. They also announced a release date, with the games hitting shelves in Spring 2011.
“It’s rare to find a franchise with such worldwide appeal and dedicated fans as Pokémon.” said Laurent Fischer, Managing Director Marketing and PR, Nintendo of Europe. “We’re excited to inform our fans that this eagerly anticipated adventure, featuring an all-new generation of Pokémon, will be available in Europe in spring 2011.The Legendary Pokémon Reshiram will appear on the cover of Pokémon Black Version and the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom will be seen on the cover of Pokémon White Version.”
I have to say, these legendarys don’t look as badass as the original legendary birds, or even Mew, though I might just be so bored with the series that its making me a bit biased. I just can’t get into the new Pokemon games. Has anyone else been thinking that Nintendo is somewhat beating a dead Pikachu?
I guess numbers don’t lie, and with 8.4 million units of the latest game being sold worldwide, it seems we will be seeing Pokemon for a very long time. I am just worried they will run out of gemstones and colors to label their versions with!
