We have everything you need to know from Nintendo’s E3 press conference. Donkey Kong, Kirby, Mario, and Kid Icarus all make appearances. Don’t be the last to know, check out everything worth mentioning below.

Games
Nintendo brought their AAA game this year. Just about every first party game that you’ve been dying to see on the Wii has been officially announced. Well, there’s still no StarFox or Pikmin 3 yet, but I can’t imagine anyone complaining after seeing what Nintendo has lined up for this year.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
  • Kid Icarus (Nintendo 3DS)
  • Epic Mickey (Wii)
  • Metroid: Other M (Wii)
  • Kirby’s Epic Yarn (Wii)
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)
  • Mario Sports Mix (Wii)
  • Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (Nintendo DS)
  • Wii Party
  • Goldeneye (Wii)
  • Nintendo has been criticized since the launch of the Wii in 2006 for not catering to the hardcore gaming community. I think it’s safe to say that Nintendo fans will be happy this year and that it was well worth the wait. On top of announcing the largest batch of first party titles ever on the Wii, Nintendo also revealed the Nintendo 3DS, a 3D portable gaming device that is sure to make as many waves in the industry as its big brother the Nintendo Wii has.

    Nintendo 3DS
If you’re thinking the only difference between the 3DS and a DSi is the ability to play games in 3D you would be gravely mistaken. The machine has had a complete overhaul to its inner components, a faster processor, wireless communication (even in sleep mode), and a newly added analog nub. Let’s not forget that it is equipped with 2 outer cameras that allow for 3D picture capturing. This is one iteration of the Nintendo DS that you will not want to skip on.

    Overall
For years fans have been crying out for Nintendo to focus its efforts on first party titles for more mature audiences. It took 3 years, but Nintendo finally delivered and gave us exactly what we’ve been asking for and more. Plenty of gamers would have been just as happy with an announcement of a new Zelda game alone, everything is is just icing upon icing on the most scrumptious looking console on the market.
