Ben Michales, a 6 year old boy from the UK, suffers from ambylopia, a deteriorating eye condition that would have eventually left him blind, that is until his doctor prescribed him with 2 hours a day of playing MarioKart on his Nintendo DS.

What were the doctor’s reason for this peculiar treatment? No, he doesn’t own stock in Nintendo. In order for Ben’s condition to improve his eye would need extensive therapy and since your eyeballs can’t run on a treadmill the best way to keep them busy is to play video games, apparently.

Since Ben’s daily regimen of MarioKart DS his vision has improved by 250% in just his first week of therapy. Who said playing video games were unhealthy?
