Did you quit Boy Scouts because it just wasn’t your thing? Was there too much hiking involved? Or maybe you just aren’t the wilderness type. Either way, you may want to reconsider because the Boy Scouts of America has added a new merit pin for video gaming.
In a decision that shocked parents and health experts the Boy Scouts of America have decided to go with a video game merit badge to encourage media literacy. Scouts can earn their badge by playing “appropriate” video games, teaching someone else to play video games, and by other less straight forward means like researching where to purchase the game they want for the cheapest price.
It’s nice to see such a time honored organization update their program to reflect modern youth. Now we need to work on pushing for this badge in the Girl Scouts. What do you say ladies?
