For only 99 cents, Train Conductor 2 for the iPad is definitely something worth toot-tooting for. While the title may lead you to believe that the game is a train conductor sim game, it’s a bit more than that. It’s not one train you manage but anywhere up to 5 trains and tracks. Sometimes, you don’t manage trains but subway cars, monorails or ghost trains.

Review Guide

Gameplay is pretty easy and straightforward — touch and swipe trains to their corresponding tracks. The tutorial makes the game seem super easy and unintimidating, but it isn’t until you’re actually playing the game that you understand the challenges and difficulties of Train Conductor 2. Although simple, you’ll find yourself addicted to playing until you can unlock another stage. Obstacles in gameplay also add to the challenge with each stage and come in the form of track blocks, other trains you may be holding up if you’re conducting too slow, holes, subway lines or tracks that change on a whim and holes. If you cause a crash, then it’s game over.

My only gripe about the game isn’t so much a gripe. There’s not much replay value to it as there’s only 5 stages to play. At the same time, you’re getting what you pay for because it’s only 99 cents. The only other way to get more out of its replay value is to take advantage of the game’s social features — you can Tweet or Facebook your scores and even compete with your Facebook friends, leaderboard and all.

Overall, I recommend this game — for only 99 cents, it’s hard to pass up. Those who don’t own an iPad, you’re in luck — it’s also compatible for the iPhone. To purchase head here.
