Alright, so Easter isn’t anytime soon, but we’re always in the mood for colorful eggs and bunnies, right? In Easter Golf, it’s your duty to help Jack Rabbit (Hah!) get past a round of golf without embarrassing himself. It also wouldn’t hurt to pick up a few nicely decorated Easter eggs along the way!
There’s a total of 18 stages, and your main goal is the same as in any game of golf — try to get the golf ball in the hole in as few shots as possible. Yes, there are a whole bunch of colorful Easter eggs littered around each map, but they barely get you any points compared to the amount you get if you get a par (or even better, less). In each stage, you start by placing the ball on the start grid, and then you use your mouse to adjust the power of your shot and the general direction. After you do that, the dots that show the direction in which your ball will go towards will start to rotate, so you will have to click again to adjust the final direction and send the ball flying. New types of terrain are introduced as you move through the levels, such as sand, water, and “Insane Go Faster Stripes”. Yeah, they’re insane.
You can restart each level at any time by pressing “M” on your keyboard, but I’m annoyed at the fact that the game doesn’t have a “Start Over” button to restart the entire game. Easter Golf isn’t any more difficult than your average online golf game, but it’s definitely much more facepalm-worthy. The weird obstacles and barriers they put in (which I imagine are supposed to make the game a bit more wacky and kid-friendly) only end up being…(dare I say it?)…stupid.
Okay, I admit that I’m not a huge fan of golf games (perhaps because I’m not exactly the best golfer around), but I’ve played quite a few different ones and Easter Golf is nowhere on my top 10 list. Final verdict? Eh, I give it a score of 4/10. Play it if you really want to.
