Although the Mega Man series has been untouched for nearly a decade, Capcom has finally unveiled an anticipated sequel to the all time favorite Mega Man Legends series for the 3DS. Capcom vice president Keiji Inafune has been notioning at the sequel and he confirmed in an interview that the MT Framework engine powering Capcom titles were designed especially to power a Legends sequel.

Currently, Mega Man Legends 3 Project is only a temporary name which includes a portrait, and some vague promises from the director on a Japanese website. I think that Inafune has made a wonderful decision by picking the 3DS as the console. It’s perfect for these type of games and they even promise to incorporate fan feedback into the game. Hopefully more news of the game will be released next weekend at the New York Comic-Con.
