A race against time, ClickSum is a flash game that tests both your speed and accuracy.
All you have to do is click the numbered circles to clear them, in a specific order. There are five rounds, and the order you have to clear them in is specified before each one. For example, you might have to clear them in consecutive order, in pairs, or in reverse order. The faster you clear the screen, the more points you get. But you also get more points the closer you get to the circles’ edges. If you click the wrong circle, you have to start over. There are also bonuses for completing a round in mirrored mode and for clicking on the flies wandering around the screen.
In my opinion, ClickSum isn’t a fun game to play idly, but it would be great for tournaments because you’d have to be faster and more accurate than everyone else. The game is easy enough that anyone can play it, but the difficulty is in clicking the edge of the circles instead of the center in a timely matter. The game is nice enough to remind you of the order if you skip the instructions before the round and if you don’t click anything for a long period of time, the ones you need to click start glowing. But by then you’ve already wasted too much time to get a high score.
The structure of the game isn’t too bad, but it could be better. The main menu only has options to play the game or to buy “errors” to use during the game. No leaderboard. That means you have to send a score to see it, which isn’t too hard to do. You can’t quit the game whenever you want; you either finish all five rounds or let the time run out. You can, however, turn off the music and sounds during the game, which is great because the applause and background noise was really distracting. At the end of the five rounds, the game shows you your overall speed and accuracy, probably to show you what you need to improve on.
Overall, ClickSum isn’t too fun but isn’t too boring either. It’s an average game, and earns an average score: 6.5/10.0. Try it free, here!
