Xbox 360 HANDS DOWN! For instance, look at how there is no party chat on Playstation 3, and there just seems to be much more teenagers like me on Xbox, whereas there aren’t so many friends online at once on the Playstation Network. You’ve also got the Kinect - which PS3 cannot top, and just look at the value in general - and tell me - what is there that makes Playstation 3 so much more expensive?

hmm i dont know, played games on both system before, but i just like the ps3 more. i guess it is just that the ps3 cell processor is better than the 360 that leans me towards the ps3

Firstly, I would like to thank for publishing this debate, for I waited so long to get involved in a debate like this. At school, all the boys always go on about this. Now I’d like to make my feelings clear on this debate.
First of all, I think that they are almost identical to each other, apart from the fact that Playstation 3 has free online gaming. That’s the only thing that really stands out for the Playstation 3 to the Xbox.  Also, I would like to say that in the United Kingdom, the Playstation 3 is £180 more than the Xbox. That’s outstandingly more, and you could get another Xbox. Or instead, it would pay for four and a half years of Xbox Live - and you don’t really use the same console for four and a half years.
Secondly, there are slight differences in their features. Playstation 3s can play Blu-Ray discs, whereas Xboxs can also show movies in high-definition. I think they match each other here. Xbox 360s can feature Sky Player, whereas Playstation 3s only have the option of BBC iPlayer.
Both consoles can access the internet wirelessly. This is important in convincing any game fanatic to buy a certain console. All technology fans wwill want this too.
But now I am going to describe the bit where Xbox makes a breakthrough. As you may know, some of the best games worldwide are only available on Xbox. A key example of this is Halo Reach and the Halo series.Yes, Playstation 3 do have games only available on that format, like Little Big Planet, but the quality of these games are not quite up to scratch in my opinion.
Having taken all the points into consideration, I have come to a conclusion. It is that Xbox 360s just edges out the Playstation 3, for that one reason I explained.

Okay, let’s get this perfectly clear.

What makes a console “good” can be defined by its technological superiority and its exclusives.

Clearly, the PS3 has got it down.

1) The Cell Processor has always been superior
2) PSN Network actually has a lot of classics and remade classics (even if they are for the majority, Japan-only, which shouldn’t be considered a down fall ‘cause Microsoft doesn’t have ANY remake/ports of classics OR another foothold in different hemisphere)
3) PS Move = Wii ports = enhanced Wii games = in terms of this debate, more ps3 “exclusives”
4) Microsoft “Exclusives” aren’t actually “exclusives"… you could get them on both the PC AND Mac. (Gears of War has been ported to Mac for instance, which I don’t understand why.)
5) Oh and the PS3 is just sexier.

Nicely stated! I got an Xbox 360 for Christmas last year so I could check out their exclusives and so far I’ve been disappointed. Halo was boring (sorry guys!), Gears was better, but I still haven’t beaten the first one which I think says a lot, Mass Effect on the other hand was great, but couldn’t get through that one either (it’s soooooo looooong!).

Anyway, it’ll be another great year for the PS3 and just an OK year for Xbox fans.

Halo and Alan Wake are definitely strong competitors on the XBOX side, but I think I still enjoyed the group over on PS3 a little bit more… I mean, LBP was just freaking adorable. Also, the game play in God of War III was absolutely breathtaking. Same goes for MGS.
