Quick! Blow that zombie’s head off! If you’re a fan of side scrolling shooter games, then perhaps you might want to try out Van Pershing. The game consists of 40 levels with 4 different sceneries to blast through Zombies, Werewolves, Cyclops, Frankensteins, and more. The art design for this game is cartoon-like with a lot of nice detail in the background. My favorite character in the game is the lady in the shop with the manish raspy voice. The theme song for this game is also very Halloweenish with a cartoon vibe. More »

Just by looking at its name, you can immediately tell that Level’D’s The Ball is Too Fast, The Game is Too Slow, The Name is Too Long is a unique game. With whimsical old-school arcade style graphics, Level’D successfully manages to induce a sense of nostalgia, while simultaneously putting a new spin on the classic brick/block-breaker genre. This week’s debate was inspired by a young boy (around 8 years old) who was waiting in line behind me with his grandmother at the midnight launch of EA’s reboot of the classic first person shooter franchise, Medal of Honor, an M rated game. I found the situation appalling, but it’s up for you guys to decide. This week’s statement is, “I will allow my children to play any video game they want. It’s all fake anyway.” Agree or Disagree. From Finalfantasy14players: First off, I’m not saying you should be naked in real life as you sit in front of your computer while playing Final Fantasy XIV. What I am saying is your character should be naked pretty much at all times unless he/she is fighting. That’s because everything you do, crafting, mining, logging, fishing, etc. all damages your armor and weapons. I even sometimes fight low level monsters naked too. Why is this a big deal? Damaged armor reduces its effectiveness and heavily damaged armor doesn’t protect you at all. Repairing armor costs one of two things, money or materials, or a combination of both. Money is easy enough to get, especially if you’re part of a good linkshell doing leves all night. Materials not so much. The better the armor, the more rare the material you need to fix it. More »

Initially upon learning that Time Geeks: Find All was a seek & find game, I wasn’t all that excited. Seek & find games are notoriously known for having little replay value and depending on the quality of artwork, are largely hit or miss. Such is not the case for Time Geeks: Find All. What I’d soon discovered as the Time Geeks story unraveled was that it was very much a homage to ’80s games with it’s excellent pixel art graphics and pop culture references. From then on, I knew I’d come across something different. More »

R.I.P. Project LMNO. What is it you ask? A few years ago, EA and Steven Spielberg teamed up for what could be the most epic video game ever (with THE Steven Spielberg, how could it not be?) and called it Project LMNO. Unfortunately, EA has now officially confirmed the cancellation of the game. The reasons behind it are unclear, but according to EA, they still intend to partner up with Spielberg one day. I just hope that day comes soon. More »

Redbox has been tinkering around with adding game rentals to a few of their Kiosks for a couple years, but now they’re ready to extend their program to many thousands of their 24,000 redbox kiosks around the US. The game rentals will cost you $2 per day, which doesn’t sound bad at all considering many of the games these days can be finished off within that time span. More »
