Rumor: Uncharted 3 in Africa

Nathan Drake has survived the worst of nature as the protagonist of Uncharted. He has been stranded in a cursed South American jungles and was almost left to die on the snowy Himalayas in the next installment. Where could he be headed next on his treasure-hunt? The rumor mill says the desert.

It’s been indicated that an Uncharted 3 reveal is due around the Spike TV Video Game Awards– and that instead of the freezing snow, Nathan Drake will headed for some sun and sand. (If only it were the beach.) Thus the theory goes that he’ll be taking a visit to the deserts of Africa, a place infamously hunted by Indiana Jones.

Kotaku interestingly also points out that in the Indy movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jones traveled from the jungles of South America, to Nepal’s mountains, and then to the Egyptian desert. Too similar to be a coincidence isn’t it?

In addition, Sony plans to unveil something in Hollywood on December 12, maybe it’s about Uncharted 3 after all.
