Kaz Hirai, head of Playstation, has leaked some information on some of the features we may see on the supposed PSP2. With the success of Apple’s devices in mind, Hirai sincerely hopes that these features will appeal to a different crowd, saying, “The games being played on Android and Apple platforms are fundamentally different from the world of immersive games that Sony Computer Entertainment, and PlayStation, aims for.”
Obviously Hirai would not give away too much on the yet-to-be-confirmed handheld console, but some notable evidence was revealed. He hinted at the control Sony think are best for handheld gaming.
It has been rumoured that a unique rear touch panel with come into use. And from some of the photos I have been viewing, it certainly seems like a reality.
“Depending on the game, there are ones where you can play perfectly well with a touch panel. But you can definitely play immersive games better with physical buttons and pads. I think there could be games where you’re able to use both in combination”.
Thoughts?
