The earnings for Microsoft were released only 10 minutes before the market closing, but they reveal some pretty interesting figures. Their revenues grew by 5% to $19.95 Billion in the second quarter, however, this is not as interesting to us as some of their gaming/entertainment news. It is reported that Microsoft sold 8 million Kinect units within the space of 60 days (two months).

Peter Klien commented, “We are enthusiastic about the consumer response to our holiday lineup of products, including the launch of Kinect. The 8 million units of Kinect sensors sold in just 60 days far exceeded our expectations. The pace of business spending, combined with strong consumer demand, led to another quarter of operating margin expansion and solid earnings per share growth.”

Definitely a celebratory point for Microsoft as the Kinect grows stronger - congratulations to them.
