Get your shuriken and kunai ready for this adorable new ninja flash game: Girigiri Run! Girigiri Run is all keyboard action. The Z, X, and C keys are used to destroy enemies (each for a specific enemy), the A key to attack the boss, the up arrow key to jump, and the right arrow key to dash (for the boss). You start with only three different enemies, and in the beginning of the first level those enemies will be labeled with which key to use to destroy them.

Review Guide

As you progress in the game, obstacles that you need to jump over and more enemies are added, both of which are labeled when first introduced. Instructions for fighting the boss also appear when you get there. The levels of difficulty determine how fast Oni is running in the game. You get three lives, which you can lose by hitting an obstacle or an enemy (not for using the wrong key on the wrong enemy). Bonus points if you don’t miss enemies or lose a life over and over again!

The first thing that you notice about this game is how adorable it is! The simple graphics really suited this game, though the random objects as enemies was just a little strange. Girigiri Run really caters to amateur gamers, offering mini tutorials throughout the game, but can also be a challenge in hard mode.

On the other hand, I found the game really repetitive and after a few minutes of playing, quite boring. In my opinion, they should have started off with the three attack keys and added more in later stages. Not to mention, I couldn’t figure out how to turn off the sound effects (the music can be turned off in the lower right corner). The mini tutorials can’t be skipped, and while you can pause the game, you can’t quit whenever you want. Only after you lose all of your lives can you send score or go back to the main menu.

I’m sorry but cuteness doesn’t cut it in flash games. Final score: 6.0/10.0. Is the adorable onigiri-shaped ninja too tempting? Try the game here for free!
