Heads up–Japan is getting yet another Final Fantasy remake! This time, it’s coming in the form of Final Fantasy III, which will hit Apple’s App Store some yet undetermined time. As usual, Square is being a little confusing with the names–Final Fantasy III is actually the game originally for the NES that had a stateside release on the DS in 2006, not Final Fantasy VI, which was released as Final Fantasy III in the US.

No word on whether or not the iDevice version of the game would be localized, but Square’s generally pretty good with that, so check your fingers crossed!

Final Fantasy on iDevice, eh?
Sounds pretty cool. I wouldn’t mind playing it. Hope it’s not just a rumor. D=
