There have been several indications recently of how Youtube are seeking to expand its video content distribution onto game consoles. On the PS3 and Wii web browser, Youtube is already available through a special designed site. However, a job post for a Youtube software engineer says that Youtube are looking for an engineer to “build the next generation game console based TV experience with Youtube video content,” and “integrate and optimise with distribution channels and devices including all major game platforms”.
Other features like pay-per-view could arrive shortly afterwards. In order to take on the job, you will have to have “deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.
