I personally don’t believe in it since if Kaz Hirai has already said that the PS3 hasn’t even reached it’s half-life or its full potential, then I doubt the Xbox360 has either. The 360 was released roughly one year ahead of the PS3, making it slighter older than 5 years. Microsoft itself has mentioned that the 360 will persist until 2015, but of course, that probably also hints that development for it may start now.
Microsoft just released some fishy new job listings– Graphics hardware architect, Senior Architect and Performance Engineer in XBOX Console Architecture Group, and Senior Hardware Verification Engineer. Now, Graphics Hardware Architect doesn’t sound out of the blue, since Microsoft should always be looking for the new workers of the market.
But the two senior positions are highly interesting. Normally companies don’t hold out job listings for such high positions unless starting a new project.
There’s no verification for anything at this point, but who doesn’t like to hope?
