So Zong is an interesting concept of billing. For instance, when you buy something on the PSN (DLCs, games, movies) your credit/debit card is usually billed. If you don’t have a credit card, for instance, for a World of Warcraft account, you can buy a pre-paid card (like the 2 months pass) for the payment. But Zong is going to redirect that purchase. They’re thinking, instead of billing it to your card, it’ll be directed to your mobile phone carrier.

Zong works by taking a user’s mobile phone number, and using it to direct billing. And all you have to do is confirm it. So you don’t need to input your credit or debit card information for every product. It’s like a one-click thing. Zong also has a service called Zong+ that links debit or credit cards to mobile numbers. All payments made through Zong will be billed to the card. There’s also like a points and award system involved with Zong+.

Developers would have to agree to accept Zong as a form of payment before it’s implemented into games.

Zong is looking to expand on the upcoming mobile platforms.
