On Thursday, March 31st, the Nintendo 3DS was launched in Australia. Within the next four days, there were about 31,000 buyers, setting a launch week sales record for handhelds in the region. (Wii is first in the country, but 32,000 units sold at debut)

Obviously, this number cannot be compared to North America’s. Due to the population of North America and the popularity of this product, our continent sold over 370,000 units of the 3DS within one week! That’s more than ten times the units sold at Australia, and sadly, the 3DS sales here did not break any records.

So for those beast gamers here in North America, try going to Australia and maybe you’ll become a gamer star there! The country definitely needs more gamers!
