Here’s some great news for people with parents who nags them about gaming! Recently, a study conducted by mobile social network MocoSpace said that social gamers are actually more social than non-gamers. And here we were, thinking that gamers seclude themselves in their room all day. There were 10,000 anonymous participants in the study, all from the 18-million network of MocoSpace. They found out that social gamers had an average of 50 friends each while non-gamers had an average of 18 friends! What a big difference.

And if you think gamers are shy and hates to reveal their faces? Well you’re wrong, because social gamers upload twice as many photos as day compared with non-gamers!

Then again, there’s controversy on the definition of “social gamer.” Does only downloading Angry Birds or Fruit Ninja counts? Does a person who plays iPhone games when they’re bored on a bus counts? Nonetheless, it’s a really interesting study indeed!

haha i dont know about these studies. though 10k people participated, i think there can still be a margin of error. it also depends on the types of friends as well such as casual or close friends
