This weekend, Sony Computer Entertainment America said that outside party has disrupted the PlayStation Network and Qriocity. This meant that Sony had to pull down the online services. Patrick Seybold, senior director of Corporate Communications and Social Media at SCEA, posted in a PlayStation blog on Friday “An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services”.

It has been reported that security measures for the service are currently being worked on. Earlier on in the month, Sony’s network was threaterned by hacker collective Anonymous with a distributed denial of service attack. This came after their treatment to PlayStation 3 hackers in court.
