The FBI have just confirmed that they are looking into the security breach that brought the PlayStation Network down, exposing millions of users to personal data to cybercriminals. It’s been quite a struggle as well.

Nearly dozen state attorneys general are joining them, possibly also the Federal Trade Commission. It’s now been over week now since Sony’s service was forced to be taken offline. Sony said that they reported the breach to the FBI’s cybercrimes unit in San Diego.

An FBI spokesman said “The FBI is aware of the reports concerning the alleged intrusion into the Sony on line game server and we have been in contact with Sony concerning this matter.”
