Sony’s President and CEO Howard Stringer has left an open apology letter on the PlayStation Blog that addresses the troubles caused by PSN downtime. The letter also explains the actions taken by the company in order to makeup for the incident.
Stringer has reported that there is currently no evidence that any stolen credit card information has been misused and has confirmed that the US PlayStation Network and Qriocity customers will be enrolled in the AllClear ID Plus identity theft protect program. A program that includes a $1 million insurance policy against identity theft for a whole year with no charge.
As soon as the services are back online, a ‘Welcome Back’ package will be available for the customers. The package includes a month of free PlayStation Plus membership and an extension of existing PlayStation Plus and Music Unlimited subscriptions.
