It has been confirmed by Sony that PlayStation Network maintenance will take place on Tuesday, May 31. So speculation that PS3 owners could see the PlayStation Store returning has been huge, and rightly so.

Earlier on in the week, the firm claimed that it’s aiming to have the PlayStation Store back at the end of the month. May 31st is the very end, so it’s highly likely to happen. Gamers online are really hoping so.

On the PlayStation forums, they said that PSN maintenance work will take place between 19:00 GMT on Tuesday and 01:00 GMT on Wednesday, June 1. A maintenance notification page will appear for those attempting to log in then.

Great news for PSN users who are over the whole hacker incident. It has been a roller coaster ride for Sony and PSN users. I hope the PSN will have better security and Sony won’t repeat this issue ever again.
